Creating Victoria Woodhull: Gilded Age Presidential Candidate 1872 (coming 9/29)

Victoria Woodhull was one of the  Gilded Age’s most challenging, revolutionary, outspoken, and certainly fascinating figures.  Considered by some to be the first woman to run for President, she also worked as a spiritualist, newspaper publisher, and, along with her sister, the first female Wall Street stockbroker. But Woodhull’s life, as biographers have struggled to capture, was a mix of paradoxes, contradictions, and challenges that easily defy simple definition. In this show, The Gilded Gentleman looks at who Victoria Woodhull was and her lasting influence, as well as how the creative team behind “A Simple Herstory,” an audio fiction podcast series, has raised the bar for narrative history.
